Metrosion seeks exceptional freelance Data Scientists to join the Metrosion Talent Network. The ideal candidate will build models and apply quantitative techniques to create data-related business impact and results for our enterprise clients. Join a Talent Network consisting of entrepreneurs and Data Scientists from well-known technology companies that are collaborative, reliable and client-oriented.

 

This remote position can be done from anywhere in the world but you may be asked to travel on-site for client projects.

Responsibilities 

​​​

• Develop, test, implement and maintain statistical modeling implementations

• Design experiments and interpret the results to draw detailed and actionable conclusions that will enhance the product

• Guide the data formulation process including identification of attributes, exploratory data analysis, data transformation, and temporal layout

• Communicate clearly with client stakeholders, who could be CIOs of major enterprise companies, to provide data-related recommendations and solutions

Qualifications​

​

• Quantitative background with an advanced degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, statistics or mathematics is preferred

• 4+ years of work experience in a data-related research or company role implementing statistical and data-mining techniques in an applied production environment (i.e., classification, ranking, segmentation, multivariate regression and/or pattern recognition techniques)

• Experience with common analytical tool kits and languages such as Python, R, SQL, Weka, NumPy, MatLab with additional familiarity in software engineering

• Comfort working with extremely large data sets and relational databases

• Research mindset along with the ability to structure a project from idea to experimentation to prototype to implementation

• Ability to communicate complex ideas and solution recommendations to fellow team members and clients

• Ability to work collaboratively in high-intensity and fast-paced environments with numerous team members
