Define useful AI products with clear outcomes, measurable quality, and responsible boundaries.
The opportunity
Connect customer needs with Metrosion’s direction in regulated industries and critical operations. Work with design, engineering, and data colleagues to decide where AI adds value, what people should control, and what evidence is needed before a capability ships.
What you will do
- Conduct discovery with users and stakeholders to understand workflows, constraints, and the consequences of errors.
- Define product outcomes, scope, acceptance criteria, and a prioritized roadmap tied to customer value.
- Specify evaluation requirements, human review points, permission boundaries, and operational fallback behavior with technical partners.
- Guide pilots and releases using adoption, task quality, latency, cost, and support evidence.
- Communicate tradeoffs and limitations clearly, and translate post-release learning into focused improvements.
What you bring
- A record of delivering software products from discovery through launch and iteration.
- Experience working closely with engineering and design on complex or enterprise workflows.
- Practical understanding of LLM capabilities, retrieval, evaluation, and common AI failure modes.
- Ability to turn ambiguous needs into clear requirements and make decisions using qualitative and quantitative evidence.
- Strong stakeholder communication, prioritization, and ownership of product outcomes.
Helpful experience
- AI product delivery, regulated environments, or products involving sensitive information.
- Experience managing enterprise pilots, security stakeholders, or workflows with human approvals.
Location & working arrangement
This position is based in our Burlingame, California office and requires working in the office five days a week.
This is a contract position. Scope, duration, and engagement terms will be discussed during the hiring process.
AI & ML knowledge
Robust applied knowledge of AI and ML, including data readiness, training and inference, generative models, retrieval, evaluation design, model limitations, and when a simpler non-ML approach is preferable.
Every team member should be able to discuss the capabilities and limitations of AI relevant to their work, verify AI-generated output, protect sensitive information, and keep their knowledge current as the technology evolves.
